Restoration Ministries

Restoration Ministries, Inc. was established to minister the Gospel by demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ to poor, disenfranchised and hurting people. Our mission is to impact lives in ways that will restore hope to people while at the same time bring change to their community.

Two churches and two men created the vision of Restoration Ministries; Dr. John Sullivan of Spirit of God Fellowship in South Holland, and Rev. Ben Essenburg of the Fountain of Life Church in Lombard. They assembled a board of directors and an army of dedicated volunteers. With the purchase of an old, run-down, roach-infested motel in Harvey, the ministry began.

That motel became Harvey House and the first project was the Harvey House School of Ministry, a training center for men who have overcome their addictions or problems from their environments and are ready to be trained in the ways of God. Later, Tabitha House was formed to accomplish the same outcome for women. Restoration Ministries now operates over 30 programs with the help of more than 200 volunteers, and serves over 3,000 families and individuals annually.
